Congrats to Mr. & Mrs. Jon & Julianne Snape!

I must say, 01-01-10 is a pretty awesome anniversary. Congrats again to Jon & Julianne on their special day! Julianne was a beautiful bride, the church was stunning, and the couple was so very in love, which of course makes for a fantastic wedding day! I wanted to give you all a sneak peak of just a few of my favorites from the day, so enjoy!

Baby Cauis…6 months already!

I still remember the first time I met Cauis. We were at church and my husband turned to me and said, “Do you remember my friend Aaron from college?…I think I just saw him sitting over there…but he’s…he’s holding a baby!” It turns out that much more time had passed than they were aware since the last they’d seen each other. Ahh reunions!

Baby Cauis was just about to turn 7 months when we took these pictures. He is entirely too cute, and his tiny little peacoat, sweater complete with elbow patches, and rubber ducky towl are just about as cute as he is.

Artist Session With The Lovely Stephanie Pilypaitis!

Recently I had the pleasure of randomly meeting an artist by the name of Stephanie Pilypaitis who is from my home town of Omaha Nebraska. We ended up letting her tag along with us for the 12-13 hour drive to Omaha for Thanksgiving, and needless to say we’re pretty great friends now! :-)

Anyways, on our 13 hour drive either there or back we were discussing her career and the fact that she hadn’t gotten pictures done for her website/cd art for quite some time, so we set up a time last week to take some updated photos. Hair Stylist and Beautician Amanda Montoya came along to do hair/makeup/styling, so needless to say all of us girls had a lot of fun that day!

Here are some of my favs:

Stephanie is so beautiful that she made this shoot pretty easy! She rocks the serious look doesn’t she? ;-) In all seriousness we all had a great time and I am so happy with the outcome. Check out Stephanie’s Myspace here.

AND, if you liked Stephanie’s hair it was done by the wonderful Amanda Montoya, and you can contact her through email to get your hairs cut! I know I did! : amandapaigem@gmail.com. Thanks for stylin’ Stephanie so beautifully for the shoot Amanda!

Julianne & Jon’s Engagement!

So, as some of you might have noticed I have taken a short break from blog posting. It has been a pretty crazy month full of photo sessions, holidays, and picking up odd jobs around town (extra Christmas money! Yes please!). But I’m back! And what better way to come back than with the beautiful engagement session of Julianne and Jon at Radnor Lake.

The day could not have been more perfect and the couple was just so sweet and fun to work with. I was worried we might have missed all of the colorful leaves, but there was just the right amount left just for them. Have a sneak peak!

I had a fantastic time with this great couple! I can’t wait to capture their wonderful wedding for them to treasure forever! January 1st is coming fast you two! :-)

Looking for a photographer to capture your engagement or wedding experience? I’d love to hear from you! cassiekphotography@gmail.com.

The Bailey Family, Complete with Senior Pictures!

Last week I had the chance to have a shoot with some close friends of ours. It was such a great experience to capture this moment in their lives, especially their daughter Sierra who got some Senior photos taken as well!

Herb and Angel are great, loving people who have done a lot for my family so it was a pleasure to give them the gift of beautiful family pictures.

Take a look at a few of my favorites.

And here are just a few from Sierra’s senior pictures! She is beautiful!

Love love loved doing this shoot for the Bailey family and especially for Sierra as she is preparing for this next exciting phase in her life! She is thinking of going to school for art or architecture so I am very excited to see what kinds of things she creates in the coming years. Thanks to the Bailey’s for a great afternoon!

I Need Your Help!

So, I have been trying to get a finished business card and get them printed off, but I am horrible at making up my mind. So I thought the only logical thing to do would be to post my favorite designs on here and let you do the choosing!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

So those are the four that I came up with so far today. Still messing around but I would love to hear some honest feedback. Thoughts, suggestions? Leave a comment or send me a message.

PS-This is the design for the back of the card, not the side with information.

Thanks again all!

It’s Friday! Anyone for an Oregon Vaca on the Sandy River??

My favorite place to visit by far is the area just outside of Portland, Oregon near the Sandy River. I was so blessed to be able to visit this area again last month when a great friend of mine got married there. I know that everyone has a special place to them and that if you were to go to this area you might not feel the same way, but when I am there my soul is full.

I realized that I have only posted a few pictures of my trip so I thought I would sort through a few more this friday afternoon while I’m in between meetings. These were taken on a walk I took with my husband down the Sandy River one afternoon. Enjoy!

Lara Landon and Brian Weaver

The lovely and talented Lara Landon gave me a call last week to have me do a shoot for her and friend Brian Weaver for a Christmas song they are recording together called “Behold the Lamb”. We set out to Edwin Warner to snap a few shots during the short time they were driving through Nashville. Here are a few of my favs!

I always love taking pictures of artists, hearing their stories, and getting to know more about them and their music. Be sure to check out Lara Landon and Brian Weaver on facebook to hear more about their upcoming tours and music!

Chihuly Nights At Cheekwood

Right now at Cheekwood Botanical Gardens there is an exhibit on Chihuly’s blown glass art and it is hidden all around the gardens and in the museum. I really have to start off by saying that his stuff is amazing and inspiring and beautiful all at one time. There is also an exhibit of his work at the Frist Art Museum here in Nashville right now, so I highly encourage you to visit one or both of these while they are here (through Oct).

I’ve walked through Cheekwood a few times since the exhibit arrived, but wednesday-friday they open up the gates for a late night walk through of the glass art lit up in the dark of night-it is spectacular! Here are a few of the pictures, but take my word on it that they really don’t do justice to the actual sculptures so please go check them out as well.

Like I said, pretty great right? I can’t imagine the work that went into making all of those intricate pieces! I just thought they looked so great at night that I would share some of my pictures with you! Hope you enjoyed, and I hope you get a chance to see them for yourself!
